Got a big test coming up that you have absolutely zero idea of how to study for, absolutely zero idea of what’s going on, and absolutely zero idea of what the teacher has said throughout the entire school year? Well, no worries, you have the trusty textbook!! Until you realize that the unit you were supposed to study is 80 pages worth of material, you have a solid 2 hours before you will be in severe sleep deprivation for the next day, and the font is all small. You frantically worry about the upcoming event, spending your entire night contemplating whether you should accept your fate or actually try and cram as much as you can. Well, if you just had one simple tool, one world-class device…this would never be an issue. The Remarkable, Remarkable!

The issue is memory. If we could memorize stuff in the blink of an eye, we could literally just read through all of these pages with 0 effort besides simply putting eyes to words and be A-OK. Unfortunately, since that can’t happen, we need to resort to other methods

Storage and Disposal
Memory is stored in various different places, and because we’ve discussed this over 5-10 times on this very site, let’s do a brief overview. There are 2 types of memory. One type is implicit memory, which is more action based and relies more on neural patterning. Things like throwing a ball, catching a ball, driving to a place, typing, are all examples of implicit memory. The neural patterns are so strong and potentiated that no active recall is actually required. Now, on the other side of that is explicit memory. In explicit memory, we must consciously recall what is trying to be remembered. Yes, it is easier to remember the instance if those neurons are stronger; every time we utilize/recall something, those neurons get stronger, but the actual action is not pattern based. It’s more conscious recollection rather than just muscle memory. Within explicit memory is semantic memory, which is unlike the memory you think of. Your version of memory is remembering what you had for lunch yesterday…episodic memory. Semantic memory is the recollection of facts, formulas, intelligence, etc. Whenever we critically think, we use our semantic memory to initiate new thoughts; we utilize old knowledge to form new thoughts.

That’s cool and all, but how is this at all related to the one device we were rambling on about in the introduction? Well, assuming you don’t have a test tomorrow, just stay patient for 2-3 minutes, because we are getting there. The crux of all your time management issues comes down to this…
Strength In Numbers
If you’ve had any life experience–not just school experience–but life experience in general, than something along these lines have definitely occurred to you in the past. You need to remember something, something highly crucial for an upcoming event, meeting, or anything of this sort. In order to remember it, you repeat it to yourself 5 times…and then the next day, you completely forget. But, I thought repetition was the key to a strong neuron…isn’t that how neurons potentiate themselves…through active repetition? Well, yes, but the repetition must be active and engaged. Throwing a ball lazily with your dad for 10 minutes won’t make you a better thrower by a large amount. Reading a book won’t assist you in memorizing the formulas and facts. The neuron may thrive on repetition, but it builds on association. Think- our nervous system is often compared to an electrical circuit, or in other words, the world’s greatest network. A network relies on connection, and so does the brain. Associating facts with something, anything, is a better form of recollection than mindless repetition. Jumping up and down while saying something, saying it out loud to yourself and writing it down, highlighting, using the bathroom while saying it. All of these form new associations, providing the neuron with greater strengthening potential

While repetition does strengthen the neuron, association gives it more potential for strengthening due to the connections it forms, and can potentially boost strengthening at a greater rate than pure repetition ever does. Now, what ties does this have for our device?
A Clash Of Needs
Management
The issue is, as you likely noticed, is that forming memory takes time, ESPECIALLY semantic memory. Implicit memory is action based, but even the other subsection of explicit memory, episodic memory, is slightly easier to remember, as it usually involves all 5 of our senses and some sort of emotion, meaning that we have various associations. However, semantic memory is literally facts, formulas, iterations, and details, so it’s difficult to memorize them without paying attention to them. No, while there is no type of magic which can literally transcend the processing ability of the brain, there are some things we must take into account. We memorize and apply better when we are actively engaged, be it through writing, talking, or another form. Furthermore, organizing and structurally compartmentalizing what we learn/need/do in a day can be a source for high production. Unfortunately, these actions consume substantial amounts of time, sometimes more than we are willing to sacrifice. Unless, of course, you knew a secret…
The Device
The Remarkable is, truly, remarkable. Whether you have a test to study for, need to plan something out, need to let go of and organize your thoughts, anything along those lines…just count on the Remarkable to be available. Unlike conventional notebooks and paper where you may not have time to handwrite everything neatly, the Remarkable is the exact opposite. With a pen that turns scribbles into text, you can write as fast as you can, and the low grip strength to legibility ratio enables low hand fatigue, so you don’t cramp every 10 minutes. Additionally, choose any style of notes: you can write on a blank paper, draw a graph, or create some work on lined paper. The choice is yours. With the option to create folders and notebooks within folders to consolidate everything, your notes will be readily available whenever you want. Still not sold, maybe due to time? Well, it can come with a keyboard if you so please, in order to enable typing. Stop wasting time, don’t complain about not having time, and never run out of time with the all new, remarkable, Remarkable!!

Does this look like regular paper? Maybe because the difference is barely noticeable. Revolutionize your notes, thoughts, and planning in the most remarkable way possible!!
